Here we are to merge the two side of the ORB trading system. All together, long & short equity side are very impressive. It sounds like a very good trading system. Simple, easy to execute also manually, no difficult calculation to do during the trading day. So this is the overall equity line.
As you can see the total amount of the trades is the sum of the long and short trades as in the two previous posts. The same is true for the net profit. Most of the statistics (Recovery Factor, CAR/MaxDD, Risk-Reward Ratio, Ulcer Performance Index, K-Ratio), telling us the quality of the equity curve, are superior for the global equity than for each one separated.
Both sides have almost the same win-rate, but the short one is more profitable than the long one. One can argue to adjust the parameters more adequately for the long side in order to get a better performance, but this would produce a risk of overfitting.
